Please use individual TLL account to login to the systems. Do not login using anyone else’s account.
You are not allowed to wear gloves or a lab coat when operating the microscopes and the computer.
Ensure that objective lenses only come into contact with the correct immersion medium and only use 1 drop.
If you have any questions or problems during your session, please refer to a list of contact numbers in each confocal room.
After each session, remember to clean oil immersion lenses after use:
- Blot oil using a new piece of Whatman lens tissue (never Kim Wipes)
- Use a second piece with 100% of ethanol
- Use a 3rd piece to wipe away any remianing residue.
Fill in the log book and specify any problems encountered.
Please save your files using your own storage devices (USB drive) and/or on the TLL network. The D-drive is for temporary storage only. Any data older than 6 months will be deleted.
If you break any of the Guidelines and Booking rules (e.g. failure to book a session; uninformed cancellation of a session; leaving a lens dirty; excessive booking; booking on behalf of your lab memebrs etc.) you will be subjected to the 3 strikes policy.
1st offence - you will receive a warning and be reminded of the rules.
2nd offence - you will receive a second warning and we will inform your PI.
3rd offence - you will be banned from using any of the microscopes in our facility for 2 weeks.

If you use the TLL Bioimaging facility and/or have been trained or assisted by any of our facility members in your research, then this should be acknowledged appropriately in your publications and presentations.
